breathing New Life into History: The Award-Winning Restoration of the Rawls House

Rawls House AT 426 E Texas before renovation began.

At Ware Brothers, we take pride in preserving the past while building for the future. We're excited to share that our work on the Rawls House, a historical landmark in Grapevine, earned the 2022 Restoration Project Award.

The Rawls House: A Historical Landmark

The Rawls House, built in the late 19th century, is more than just a home—it's a recognized historical landmark in Grapevine. While it has been well-maintained over the years, it needed some updates to meet modern standards without compromising its historical integrity.

Our Restoration Approach

When we took on the Rawls House project, our goal was clear: respect its history while making it functional for today. The house wasn’t in disrepair, but it required careful updates to ensure it could continue to serve its purpose.

Before: The Rawls House retained its original character but needed modernization. Systems like plumbing and electrical required updating, and some original features needed restoration.

After: We restored the Rawls House by updating its systems and preserving its historical features. The result is a home that maintains its historical charm while offering the comforts of modern living.

Why This Restoration Matters

Restoring the Rawls House wasn’t just about winning an award; it was about preserving a piece of Grapevine’s history. The before-and-after transformation demonstrates the importance of thoughtful restoration, blending the old with the new.

A Sincere Thank You

We thank Dan and Robin Bock for their trust in us. Their commitment to preserving the Rawls House made this restoration possible.
